I apologise for being MIA for so long, I feel like I’ve neglected the blog for the past two weeks. But I do have a good excuse..
I’ve been in Portugal *post to follow v soon*.
I planned to write this post on the plane on the way out, edit the photos and publish it as soon as I got Wi-Fi. But in true Grace style the only time I opened my laptop was to watch Netflix in bed, after hard days of sunbathing, eating & drinking- oh the struggles of being on holiday.

Every time I go away I over-pack but this year, something crazy happened and I under packed (!!!) – am I okay? When grabbing some essential holiday items from Primark I picked up a little make-up bag (I think it’s probably a pencil case) and I managed to fit *most* of my essential beauty products in it. These bits have fast become my favourites…

Chanel- Coco Mademoiselle
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’re probably thinking- not the bloody Mademoiselle again. I’ll admit I bang on about this perfume all the time. But every time I spray it, it gets me all heart eyed.

Coco Chanel Mademoiselle Perfume

NYX Frame & Tame, Tinted Brow Pomade.
This is pretty much exactly the same as the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade, but under half the price! I’d say the only difference is that the consistency is a little lighter and you have to apply a tiny bit more if you want bolder brows. But if you’re like me who only lightly fills them it actually works better than the ABH.

NYX Brow Pomade

Jo Malone- English Pear & Freesia
I couldn’t pick my favourite Jo Malone scent as they’re just all too good. But, this is the one that made it in my clutch most nights of the holiday. I think it’s because it’s such a light and fresh scent. If you had to represent Spring with a fragrance this would be it.

Jo Malone English Pear & Fressia

Barry M, Matte Me Up Liquid Lip Paint- Paparazzi.
I’m crazy fussy when it comes to red lipstick. I’ve tried SoOo many different brands and shades but have only ever liked Eva Longorias Red from L’Oreal (which I can never find anywhere!) But I finally found this one.. I would still pick up the L’Oreal over this, but it’s a great alternative if you want a red that’s super bold.

Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Paint

Bourjois 123 Perfect Liquid Foundation.
In the summer I tend to have a bit of a mare with foundations. The sun kindly brings out all of my 469165 freckles and heavier foundations just do not sit right on top of them. This is just right as it’s really light but with medium coverage- but still not enough to stop people asking if they can do dot to dot.

Spring Lips.

Beauty, Life

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset
It’s HERE! Technically it’s still Winter but as soon as I noticed a little cluster of flowers that had sprouted up out of nowhere I automatically starting saying ‘it’s spring.’ Spring is one of my favourites (although, I notice I say that about every season.) But blossom is just too pretty. It’s crazy how much a blue sky, a bit of sun and a few flowers can produce so much optimism/happiness/motivation etc. It’s just crazy uplifting, don’t you think?

I’m so excited for light evenings, so it feels acceptable to go and sit in a beer garden after work. For pretty dog walks, iced coffees, mojitos (as they taste so much better when the suns shining), driving with the windows down (!!!!), butterflies (!!!!!!!), and BBQ’s (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Ah, so much excitement.

I don’t know about you but when Spring comes I automatically start whipping out brighter colours from my wardrobe and I think the lips are begging for a brightening too. Lipstick is obviously a huge staple for most females make-up bags but I think most stick to their usual colours that they feel comfortable with. But now the suns shining and we are slowly coming out of hibernation, it’s a good opportunity to mix things up in the make-up dept.
These are a few high-street lipsticks to brighten up your pout for Spring…

Sleek Matte Me Lip Gloss- Shabby Chic, £4.99.

You can never really go wrong with Sleek Make-up & this lipstick is perfect for Spring. It’s very mauve which is so so pretty and one of the smoothest liquid lipsticks I’ve used. This is probably the darkest I go in Spring time, otherwise I end up feeling a little too Autumnal. Ps. This is so long lasting!

Sleek Power Pump Lip Crayon- Fully Fuschia, £5.49.

Oh another Sleek. If you’re not into Matte lips or Glossy lips, this is the one for you. It’s more like lipstick consistency but the crayon design makes it way easier to apply. I would rarely wear this colour (even though it’s super pretty) but it’s just a little too pink for me. However… it looks fabulous on other people. My sister worked it for a party and side note, it looks so good with a black dress and subtle make-up.

KIKO Pencil Lip Gloss- Pink Glitter, £3.90.
So a KIKO store just opened where I live and lets just say Kiko will for sure be featuring in a lot more posts… the products are lush. I was pretty much testing everything in the store when I came across this gem. The best way I can describe it is a lipliner/lipstick/lip crayon/lipgloss- all into one little stick. It’s not super pigmented which I actually really like because it looks subtle and v natural- like your pout naturally sparkles. Ps. I’ve used this over the top of a bolder matte lip just to jazz it up a bit.

NYX Professional Makeup Round Lipstick- Snow White, £4.00.

I think it’s important to always have a classic, no matter what season it is. For me, red is the go-to. This lipstick has some coral tones to it, which I think gives it that Spring vibe. NYX’s products are always super pigmented which is so appealing when looking for a bright/bold lipstick.

I will admit I’m super lazy when it comes to my facial skincare. So… along with trying to take more care of myself this year, that I touched upon in my >>2017<< post. I decided to add skincare to the list. I’ve had a much stricter skincare routine for a few weeks now (which my skin is ~loving~) so I thought I’d share my current fav products.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.

I had heard so much about this I had to try it. I’m not a fan of waters and toners as I have no faith that they actually do anything. But, when I tried this I loved it. I personally, couldn’t use it to remove all of my make-up but it works perfectly after I’ve cleansed and before I apply moisturiser.

L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Detox Mask.

The USP for me is the smell. It smells ~insane~. It’s really creamy which makes it feel thick on the skin and like it is actually detoxing. It’s probably one of the few facemasks that leaves my skin with a noticeable change . However… I’m not sure how it would be for sensitive skin as it’s so highly perfumed- I can imagine it would irritate/sting.

Yes To Tomatoes Pore Scrub.
I was drawn to this product as it’s so natural with minimum chemicals, which did make me question whether something so natural would work when my skin is being stubborn. But it really works. It’s pretty coarse which really cleans and exfoliates the skin. I use this around every other day to give my skin a deep cleanse. It’s also quite drying, which dries out any breakouts. I have normal-oily skin so it works really well but if you’ve got dry skin, I think it may be too much.

Formula 10.0.6. Moisturiser.

If you have normal to oily skin you will love this. I’ve never been able to use moisturiser before applying make-up, as after a few hours I start shining. However, this works sooo well. The consistency is kinda like a gel rather than a cream, which dries so fast but leaves my skin smooth and soft. I use this both morning and at night.

Yes To Grapefruit Brightening Facial Wipes.

These are by far my favourite out of all of my skincare products. They are ~amazing~. The quality is so impressive- they are huge and so thick! Plus, they smell good and are v natural. I like to use them when I’m feeling super sleepy and need waking up in the morning, or after a facemask. I don’t want to get into the habit of using these too often, as they make my skin feel so refreshed and I wouldn’t want my skin to get used to them and not have the same effect.

What are your favourite skincare products?

Festive Candles.

Beauty, Blogmas, Christmas, Favourites, Home, Interiors, Life

I am without a doubt a scented candle addict, I have been burning festive candles since November but now the season is finally upon us it’s an acceptable time to share them with you!  A house isn’t a home without a few candles scattered throughout!

I picked up 2 of the following:

Cinnamon Stick
Warm aromas of cinnamon blended with the base note scent of cloves.

Mandarin Cranberry
A fresh, tangy burst of cranberries with notes of super-sweet oranges.

Tarte Tatin
A lovely combination of apples, spices and vanilla, straight from the oven.

Spiced Orange
Zesty yet warming, citrus oranges with trails of cinnamon.

Cappuccino Truffle
Deliciously decadent, a bold pairing of fresh roasted coffee and velvety chocolate.

Pain Au Raisin
Cognac soaked raisins baked in buttery vanilla dough and sprinkled with cinnamon.

Salted Caramel
A combination of pure indulgence; burnt sugar and cracked sea salt are married with smooth vanilla caramel.

Fireside Treats
Sweet and smoky, the aroma of toasted marshmallows over an open fire.
These have to be my most favourite, so much so I burned the both in November!

Gingerbread Maple
The traditional combination of sugar and spice with maple syrup and vanilla icing on a delicious gingerbread cake.

Vanilla Bourbon
Topping a hot drink with a layer of thick vanilla cream and a generous splash of bourbon creates a wonderful winter warmer.

Beauty Blogger Questions.

Beauty, Favourites, Life, Tags

1. Do you have a beauty budget or do you spend freely?
I’d say around every 3-4 months I go on a splurge. I usually just buy the products I have run out of along with a few new products. I don’t really give myself a budget but, I do watch how much I am spending.

2. What is your beauty pet peeve?
People who do not take their make-up off before bed. I will never understand how people do this.

3. Do you contour and highlight?
Yes I love to but, not everyday. I usually do it at the weekends or a night out.

4. What is your favourite hairstyle?
This is soo hard! On myself, I don’t really have a favourite. I enjoy wearing it up, down and french plaited. On other people, I love slick styles such as; a slick pony tail or a slick neat bun- but I can’t pull them off!

5. Do you have to wear make-up everyday?
No. I do most days, but if I am not doing much or do not feel like it, I wont.

6. Do you believe in the saying ‘less is more’?
100%! I think a lot of people wear too much make-up, me being one of them… But I think a lot of people actually wear more make-up, because they enjoy it (me included) it’s like putting on a nice outfit.

7. What is your day-to-day make-up look?
A medium coverage of foundation, a brush of loose powder, lightly filled in brows, winged liner, mascara and a nude lip.

8. Thick or thin brows?
Thick alllll the way! I love love love Lily Collin’s and Cara Delevingne’s bushy brows sooo much. My brows are pretty average, I always wish I had bigger brows and always try to grow them out. But they never grow consistently.

9. How often do you have your hair cut?
Every couple of months.

10. Would you ever consider taking make-up classes?
I don’t think so, nowadays there are so many talented YouTubers who put up amazing tutorials, no one really needs to. If I ever want to learn anything I usually just find a tutorial and try it out.

 11. Which celebrity do you think has the best make-up?
Margot Robbie for keeping it natural- she clearly doesn’t need it but when she does wear it she still looks so natural and Olivia Culpo for always looking flawless.

12. Nail polish or no nail polish?
Always nail polish!

13. What is your skincare routine?
Remove my make-up with wipes, usually at like 6pm most days. Then, when I go to shower/bath around 8 or 9pm I use a facial wash/scrub. Then I moisturise an hour before I sleep. I also, do a facemask once or twice a month.

14. What beauty product could you NOT live without?

15.What beauty product could you live without?
Blusher- I rarely use it.

Holy Grail Products.

Beauty, Favourites, Life, Tags

Here are 10 products I cannot live without!
(Well I could live without them, but life just wouldn’t be the same…)
Most of the items listed I’ve been using for a long time that I repurchase over and over.

Castor Oil.

Lots of people have never even heard of Castor Oil. It literally is just 100% natural oil, it’s very similar to Argon Oil but it’s a little thicker. I regularly use it on my eyebrows and eyelashes before bed, it helps protect and condition them and makes mine a lot thicker and grow a lot quicker. I have used it on my hair but, I personally prefer Argon Oil as it does take a few washes for the Castor Oil to subside.

Insect Repellent.

This probably seems like a bit of a weird one. I love fresh air and love to keep my bedroom windows open all year round. I do use this much more in the Summer due to it being the season of insects however, I do find myself using it all year round- mostly for my piece of mind!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid.

Although I do not use this foundation on a day-to-day basis, I definitely like to know it’s always in my make-up draw. I usually use it when I go for a heavier make-up look, when I am going on a night out, when I want more coverage or to look a little more dewy.

Dry Shampoo- Brunette.
Dry Shampoo is my best friend on mornings when I am looking for a quick hair fix. I have written before how I don’t like to wash my hair too often and this is a great product I like to use when I want to stick it out that extra day.

Revolution- Girls On Film Eye Shadow Palette.
I was honestly so shocked when I tried this eye shadow. I actually got it as a gift and was so surprised when I played around with it. There is a mixture of shimmers and mattes and they are all really pigmented and true to colour. Not to mention how cheap the palette is!

Simple- Kind to Skin Facial Wash.
When washing my face I like to stick to products as natural as possible.
I’m lucky I haven’t got sensitive skin, but I use quite strong perfumed moisturisers so when washing my face, the more simple the product, the more cleaner I feel my face is.
This is a great high-street product that does what it says!

O.P.I Nail Polish.

For me O.P.I are just the Royals of nail polishes. I’ve tried a lot of and I think these are the only brand that does not chip in the first 2 days of wearing it. The colours are beautiful and they look great.

Facial Waxing Strips.

I’ve always got some waxing strips tucked away in my beauty draw. I wax my eyebrows every 2-3 months to get rid of the stray hairs. Personally waxing is my favourite method of brow tidying. I hated threading and plucking scares me as I used to over pluck (back in the days I’d wear the wrong colour foundation.)

TRESemmé Heat Defence Styling Spray.

It’s so so important to protect your hair from heat. I try to let my hair dry naturally as much a possible and I limit myself when using heat. I’ve been using this product for a few years now, every time I use heat I lightly spray this over my hair and if I forget to use it, I really do notice the difference.

Dove DermaSpa Summer Revived.
/Dove Summer Glow.
This has to be my favourite product from this whole post.
I have been using this product for at least 5 years and love it. I was a little confused when I went to pick some more up. At first, I thought it had been replaced by this but, I’ve seen the Summer Glow is still available. The smell, colour, consistency, result is exactly the same so I’m not too sure why they’ve released this one! It is a tinted moisturiser/gradual tan. I usually use it on my face and have tried so many other moisturisers and tanners but, nothing beats this. I apply a light layer most nights before sleep and leaves me with a really subtle glow after a few hours. I don’t wear fake tan that often anymore and I would actually prefer if this product didn’t contain a tanner. But, there isn’t an equivalent so I use this is my night moisturiser. I have tried so so so many different facial moisturisers (high-street and high-end) but, my skin doesn’t like any of them as much as it likes this. It works so well with my skin, and leaves it soft and revitalised.

What’s In My Carry On?

Beauty, Fashion, Life, Tags, Travel, Uncategorized

Today I am off to Ireland for a wedding and I thought I would share my essentials for the weekend.

Wedding outfit- I am wearing a floral two-piece with a white scallop jacket, and white shoes. Along with a clutch.

Hair Accessories… I always bring hair bands whenever I am leaving my house for longer than a day, because I know there will be a time I want to throw it up out of my face.

Make-up… I always end up taking my whole make-up bag when I go away, despite trying not to. However, for this trip I’ve managed to try my best to only bring the products I need.

(I spy a Mojito…)

Electronics… hair curlers, phone charger, iPad etc.

Toiletries… this Dove pack is great for travelling. It includes all of the essentials and is below 100ml (perfect for a carry on.)

These items are definitely essential! I love to read when I am travelling.

I also packed the usual essentials such as, underwear, change of clothes, pyjamas, purse, phone, headphones, swimwear and anything I’ve forgotten to mention.

Boots Haul Reviews.

Beauty, Life

Boots 3-in-1 Blending Sponge- £3.50.
It does the job. I don’t know what it is like long-term e.g. used and washed a number of times and I am not sure how it’s ‘3-in-1’?

Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation, Natural Ivory- £5.99.
So far… so good. I love how weightless and thin this foundation is, this makes it super easy to apply and so easy to blend. I think it’s going to become my ‘every day’/’day’ foundation, replacing my MAC foundation as it’s too heavy and thick for the daytime.
It still provides me with lots of coverage which I like and it has a lot more yellow tones rather than orange tones. It’s definitely a foundation that wears well.

Maybelline Master Contour- £6.99.
I really like this product however, I don’t enjoy using as much as I would like. It’s super creamy and easy to blend with great colours for both the contour and highlight. However… I’ve only used the product a few times and already the two shades are mixing. Which means when applying I have to be more careful and take more time. I don’t think the product is worth £6.99 as there isn’t much product once rolled to the top.

Maybelline Master Sculpt Contour- £6.99.
This is pretty much what I expected, which I’m glad about. I’m really happy with the colours as, I much prefer a more matte brown to contour with rather than a bronze shimmer.

Alberto Balsam Juicy Green Apple Shampoo- £1.00.
I have already used lots of Alberto Balsam products and love them and I was happy as usual after using this. I like to use low end ‘cheaper’ shampoos once a week just to switch it up a bit and so my scalp/hair doesn’t get used to the products.

Alberto Balsam Juicy Green Apple Conditioner- £1.00.

Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam, Dark- £14.99.
This is pretty similar to the spray version I’ve used in foam form. It blends really well and the colour if great. It’s a lot less messier than the spray!

Kiss Featherlight Lash- £5.99.
These are beautiful lashes and live up to what the box says. They look very natural and when wearing them people have commented saying ‘my eyelashes look long’ and ‘have I had eyelash extensions?’ Which I’ve been pleased with as I never like to wear lashes too thick.

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick, Soft Spoken- £6.50.

The colour is a little darker than I expected which means I have to mix it with a lighter shade to achieve the colour I want. However, I love the consistency and it wears really well.

Imperial Leather Soothing Shower, Camomile & Bamboo Milk- £1.00.
I was so happy with this! I hadn’t used Imperial Leather Products in years and totally forgot what they were like. However, was reminded they smell great and feel great on the skin.

Imperial Leather Nourishing Shower, Vanilla & Almond Milk- £1.00.

St. Tropez In Shower.
So, I was sent this sample of St. Tropez in shower tanning lotion and was amazed! I had never heard of in shower tanning before and it’s such a clever idea.
I was so so so excited to try this and it was so so easy to use! First you shower, then turn off the shower, rub this into your skin (which is soooo easy, as you’re wet!) Then wait 3 minutes and shower off. I woke up with a really really light glow, which is build-able.

June Favourites.

Beauty, Fashion, Food, Life

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream- Cairo.

This is a really beautiful colour, it’s very neutral and subtle but still very noticeable.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream- Copenhagen.
I have always been obsessed with a bold lip and I saw this colour on a Zoella video and knew I had to have it, it didn’t disappoint!

ASOS Cat Eye Sunglasses- Pink.
I love love love these sunglasses, they are like matte rubber plastic material and I also ordered them in black. However, I’ve been reaching for the pink way more. I think I’ve had a nudey/pinky theme going on for the past month. You will notice the theme…

Barry M Molten Metal Nail Polish- Copper Mine.
The theme continues… I didn’t wear pink nail polish for years until I found this colour and now I am always wearing it. It’s a really pretty rose gold colour.

Zara Round Neck Coat- Pastel Pink.
I have a very dangerous coat obsession and I think that’s why I love winter because it means coat shopping! In the summer people usually enjoy being coatless and embrace it. Not me… I mean I don’t wear thick warm coats, but thinner jackets that are of a summery colour. This pastel jacket is perfect for one of my summer jackets. I usually end taking it off wherever I go. However, in the UK it can rain at any time so I just use the excuse ‘just in-case!’

Paris Hanging Photos-

I ordered these little photos from eBay a while back but I completely forgot about them. So, I finally got around to digging them out and decided to hang them.

Bruschetta- Mix for Bruschetta.

I love Italian food and I cook lots of Italian food. This little jar is ready made mix, all you have to do is grill or toast your bread and add this on top! It tastes amazing and is so easy and quick.

The Real Housewives of Melbourne.
Reality shows are definitely my guilty pleasure and this show is sooo good!
The Australian accent is music to my ears so it makes it even easier to binge watch this show. I’m already feeling v sad to finish season 3, even though I just started it!
It’s so funny and fully of drama and gossip like any RHO… show.

Coco Chanel Mademoiselle.
This will always be one of my favourite perfumes however, I haven’t been using it as much as I usually do. However, I was reminded when I sprayed it last month how much I love it and I think I used it every single day in June!

Wilko Rocco Silver Photo Frames.
These photo frames really complete my bedroom, they are great value for money but look expensive.

Spa Day.

Beauty, Life, Travel

I recently visited my nearest spa Rowhill Grange for a spa day with my sister and had the most relaxing day.

We arrived at 11am and were given our robes ready to enjoy the spa facilities. At 1pm we went for a two-course lunch in the restaurant (you are able to wear your robes!!!)

After lunch, we went back to the spa for a little while and then went to have our treatment- which was booked for 2pm. We both had a 60 minute facial and I have to say it was the best facial I have had (so far.) They start with a foot ritual, using a hot towel and cream, I could still feel the soft cream throughout the whole 60 minutes of the facial.
The rest of the time is focused on the face using lots of different potions, which left my skin feeling amazing.

If you are off on a spa day/weekend, things you should bring:
Your reservation/ticket.
Something to put your wet swimwear in.
A book or magazine.
A Hairbrush.
Sunscreen (if outside.)
A Change of clothes (if overnight.)
Slippers or flip-flops (if they aren’t included.)
A Robe & towel (these should be included.)

I would recommend to wear comfy clothing, no jewellery, no make-up and to turn off your phone! It’s so nice just to disconnect and relax.
